Event : The Oracle Fashion Week

I was lucky enough to be invited to an event at my local(ish) shopping centre on Sunday as they were holding their very own Fashion Week over the weekend and wanted to get some local bloggers who love fashion and beauty involved.

The Oracle is situated in Reading town centre and is the main shopping centre holding around 90 top brand retailers including major department stores Debenhams and House of Fraser. There is also a wide range of restaurants, cafes, bars and a cinema so it's safe to say there's pretty much everything you're looking for on a day out.

Throughout last week shoppers in The Oracle were treated to free consultations from expert advisors including professional colour consultations, skincare advice, mini makeovers and perfume sampling. Over the weekend a series of catwalk shows showcased a variety of trends including pastels, neutrals, bold prints and mish mash clash that are available from retailers at The Oracle.

I attended the event on Sunday with Leanne where we were greeted by the lovely Danesha from The Oracle who gave us a tour where we saw the "Under the Sea" and "Alternative Garden Party" displays. (Really gutted I didn't take pictures of these - they were so pretty!)

We were also taken backstage to the catwalk where we saw the models and stylists preparing hair (lots of crimping!) and makeup.

We were then taken downstairs to get a sneak peak of the range of clothes the models would be showcasing on the catwalk for the day.

After watching the first catwalk show we were taken to the upper mall where we met the lovely Emmeline who had a bundle of colour swatches ready to advise us on what works best with our skin tones and what we should try to avoid wearing too much of. I was pretty chuffed to find the colours I have been wearing work well for me but also learnt of a few colours that I actually wouldn't have gone near normally....so I will be giving my wardrobe a bit of a colour update very soon!

We watched another catwalk show where we were joined by Kathy before having a break for lunch where we headed for a cheeky McDonalds on Riverside...yum!

After lunch we watched the final catwalk show of the day which was a similar set up to the first one of the day with some different outfits thrown in. My favourite catwalk show was definitely Show B which was shown at the start and end of the day.

Here are just a few pictures from some of my favourite catwalk scenes...
