NOTD - H&M Looks Great on You

I purchased this polish along with No Mambo Jambo about a month ago and I've decided to give it a go! It's not normally a colour I would usually wear and at first when applying it the shade reminded me of Heinz Tomato Soup but after a day or so of wearing it I actually quite like it....

This is a pretty good colour for Autumn/Winter and a lot of my winter clothes seem to be black, gray or navy so this polish doesn't clash with my outfits which is handy! I found it quite easy to apply (despite the weird shame of the bottle) and it dried quickly and pretty evenly too!

What do you think?

Have you got a favourite H&M polish?

Lumiere Cosmetics Review

Not so long ago I received a tweet from Lumiere Cosmetics asking if I would be interested in sampling some of their make-up products for free for a review. I haven't tried mineral make-up before and after looking at their website I was very much interested in trying their products. After an exchange of e-mails and filling out a survey to find out which products would suit me best, my samples were shipped out to me and here's what I received...

Three Eye Pigments

Dulche de Leche, Pink Satin and Heiress

How beautiful are these shades?! I am amazed at how long lasting these pigments are! I tried them out at work last week and they lasted me all day through to best part of the evening and had barely faded. It would be so hard to choose a favourite but Heiress and Dulche de Leche work so well with MAC's Naked Lunch. Pink Satin is a lovely colour that works perfectly on its own.

Two Blushers

Sweet Cherub and Poppy

Both lovely shades, as you can probably tell from the pot I have been using Sweet Cherub the most - it's the perfect colour blush to me! As for Poppy it's a shade where a little goes a long way as it's a lot pinkier than what I would normally wear. Like the eye pigments these blushers are very long lasting too and you don't have to use all that much!

Two Foundations

Light Cool (Cashmere) and Light Cool (Veena Velvet)

The loose pigment foundations I received were both the same shade but a different finish. Cashmere is suitable for all skin types with a buildable light to medium coverage that leaves a "mostly matte" finish. Veena Velvet is suitable for normal to oily skin with a buildable light medium to heavy coverage that leaves a matte finish. Unfortunately these two products didn't really work that well for my skin, I found the shades too light and I wasn't all that keen on the finish. This could be down to my skin-type (normal-combination) or the fact I'm used to using a liquid foundation.

Overall, I'm really impressed with the products I've received I would definitely re-purchase the eye pigments and blushers.
I will feature the eye pigments and blushers in a couple of FOTD posts soon!

Wish List - Winter Warmers

I think it's safe to say it's officially winter! I actually needed my blanket last night as it was so cold and I've been wearing my rocket dog boots today! I haven't got that many clothes for winter yet apart from the odd jumper and thick cardigan so I had a little browse online...if only I could buy it all!

(Left - right)

Top Row - Dorothy Perkins

Such pretty jumpers - I can't decide which colour I prefer...if I had the money I would actually buy both!

...Because you can never have too many snoods! So comfy!

I'm a sucker for gloves with bows on - they probably wouldn't keep my hands very warm but they're so cute!

Bottom Row - Topshop

Three pairs of socks for £8 seems a pretty good deal only downside is there's so many to choose from, I'd no doubt want them all!

I am in need of some new slippers but do I want boots or normal slippers? Both look so comfy!

What's in your winter wardrobe this year?

A few recent purchases...

Hi everyone! Hope you've all had a good weekend so far...I went out for a meal with my parents, brother and the Boy yesterday :) Had some lovely Nepalese food and didn't feel too bloated afterwards which was a bonus!

I had a bit of a fiddle around with the blog the other night, created myself a new header and the lovely Sweta was kind enough to make me some super cute buttons to match! What do you think?

I've indulged in a few beauty bargains this month and thought I'd share them with you...

Lancôme Hypnôse Mascara Gift Set

You have probably noticed Debenhams have had their "Christmas Spectacular" on this week which includes 10% off beauty and fragrances. Although this set is a bargain itself at the normal £20.50 price I purchased it for £18.45 which includes...

Full size Hypnôse Mascara :

Le Crayon Khôl mini

Bi-Facil 30ml

Chanel  Éclat Lumiere Concealer in Beige Clair

Chanel Crayon Sourcils Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Brun Naturel

My local Camp Hopson in Newbury had their pre-Christmas sales evening with 15% off beauty and an additional £5 off. I have been looking for a concealer and eyebrow pencil for quite a while and as I use Chanel foundation and face powder I thought I may as well try out their concealer and eyebrow pencil! I managed to get 15% off each item individually and then £5 off the total so both items together came to around £30 which was an absolute bargain! I have been using both products for about two weeks now and I am so glad I picked them up...completely worth the money! Will feature in a FOTD post very soon :)

OPI Glamour Toes featuring Pepe's Passion and Divine Swine (Muppets Range)

Lastly I picked up this OPI polish set when Sally's had their VAT free day on Thursday, all the individual polishes were sold out but there were a few of these sets and at £9.15 (which two polishes would have roughly come to anyway) it seemed rude not to pick one up! I can't wait to try these out!

Have you purchased any bargains recently?

Feel Unique Beauty Box - November 2011

I'm probably a bit behind on posting this but better late than never right? This is my second box from Feel Unique and like last month it certainly hasn't disappointed...

(Please excuse the not-so-great pictures)

This month I received...

Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift and Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm (15ml) & Dual Action Professional Cleansing Cloth

This product was perfect timing as I had just run out of the face wash I received in last month's box. I have used this a couple of times and my skin feels so soft and is noticeably clearer. The full size product retails at £34.00 for 100ml and the Cloths are usually a pack of 3 for £10 so this sample is definitely a bargain!

Schwarzkopf Professional OSIS Dust It Mattifying Powder (10g Full Size)

I was SO chuffed to see this amazing product in my box, I remember using this whilst I was studying hairdressing at college and it gives you the most amazing volume and texture! One of my favourite hair products and to receive it full size as part of my box is pretty much the best thing ever! As a full size product this retails at £9.55.

Xen-Tan Deep Bronze Luxe Weekly Self-Tan (30ml)

I'll be honest here...I have NEVER used fake tan ever! (No joke!) I've always been worried of ending up streaky or orange, so I'm a bit nervous of using this product, especially as it says "dark" I'm not sure how far 30ml will go...I might just experiment with the products on my legs as they're always hidden now it's winter. If I do decide to use it I'll let you know the results! The full size product retails at £21.50 for 236ml.

Goldwell DualSenses Ultra Volume 60sec Gel Treatment (50ml)

A very decent sized sample of hair product here! I haven't used Goldwell before but I remember one of my hairdressing teachers used to swear by Goldwell so I'm looking forward to trying this one out. The treatment claims to give dramatic volume and body whilst "strengthening hair fibres to the core". The full size retails at £7.70 for 200ml.

Bella Pierre Shimmer Powder in Antiqa (2.35g)

This one is another full sized product (usually retails at £12.99) which I didn't know until looking up on the Feel Unique website. I'm really impressed to have received two full sized products! Anyway, I haven't heard of this make-up brand before nor have I used mineral make-up before so this should be interesting. The Shimmer Powder is considered to be multi-use as you can use it as an eye-shadow, blush, eyeliner, cream eyeshadow, lip colour and pretty much anything else! The shade I have is called Antiqa which is a beautiful dark purple-y shade. I have my team night out at work next Friday so this is perfect! I will try and feature this in a FOTD or FOTN post soon!

Prada Candy EDP (1.5ml)

I have had a sample of this perfume before from another store and I instantly fell in love with it! This perfume is so sweet smelling and a little really goes a long way with it. I am hoping to pick the gift set up in the end of year sales! The perfume starts from £40 for 30ml and goes up to £71.00 for 80ml.

Have you signed up to any beauty boxes recently?

What did you receive this month?

Much love,

NOTD - Nails Inc Tate

Hi everyone!

Sorry it's been a while since I last blogged, I've been finding it quite difficult to get good lighting for pictures for my posts recently - I seem to go to work in the dark and come home in the dark argh! I had a lovely weekend away in Cardiff for my anniversary with the Boy (a post will be up on that soon!)

Anyway, I thought I'd share with you a NOTD featuring the free Nails Inc polish I picked up with this month's Glamour Magazine. There are a total of four polishes to collect and I picked up a very gorgeous red shade called "Tate".

I don't have many red polishes in my collection so this was perfect for me! It's a great shade for Winter especially! I am tempted to pick up the other three shades with the Glamour Magazine...although there is a VAT free day on Thursday at Sally's where I intend to pick up some of the polishes from the OPI Muppets Collection....decisions decisions!

What do you think?

Which shade did you pick up with your Glamour Magazine this month?

Beauty Wish List

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend? I'm so glad I
only have a four day this week as I'm so tired but I'm going away to Cardiff on Friday with the Boy for our 2 year anniversary - so excited!

This is kind of a general/Christmas wish list as a few of the things on here are what I have asked for Christmas...

I have been wanting to try some Liz Earle products for SO long, this lovely set includes the very much raved about Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser along with a skin tonic and moisturiser.

I have this lipstick in Boy and I received a mini palette of samples of other shades available and Aventure was on there - such a gorgeous colour! I need it in my life!

I love Bobbi Brown eyeshadows and this palette has a lovely combination of browns and golds - my favourite colours to wear.

I have seen quite a few good reviews about this mascara, I think it may be on my list to try once I've used up my Lancome Doll Eyes!

I don't own any eyeshadow palettes but I have been in love with it ever since I saw it on Zoe's blog.

I tried this out at a counter in Selfridges a couple of months ago and it's been on my wish list ever since - needless to say my Mum looked a bit concerned when she saw the name of the shade I wanted! Ha!

What's on your wish list right now?

Much love,

Products of the Month : October

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a good weekend and enjoyed your extra hour in bed over the weekend! This month seems to have flown by like all the others - I can't believe I'm digging out my comfortable Rocket Dog snow boots to clean ready for winter!

Here are my products of the month...

Clinique - Take the Day off Make-up Remover

I decided to try out the Clinique make-up remover as I have started using high-end brand mascaras my Clarins eye make-up remover wasn't doing the job at all for some reason, I was  waking up with Panda eyes in the morning which just isn't good for your eyes at all. The Clinique make-up remover can be used on eyes, lips and brows and it certainly does the job, no panda eyes and it doesn't make your eyes sting or anything after you use it. I have to say this is the best make-up remover I have tried so far. I will definitely be repurchasing when I run out!

Bliss - Fabulous Foaming Face Wash

This product was part of my Feel Unique Beauty Box for October and I was so pleased with it, my skin was having one of it's rebellious break-outs (which having combination skin I'm quite prone to) before I received my box and I have been using this face wash religiously for the whole month and my skin has cleared up so well - it feels even smoother as well! This is a product I would look into buying the full size in the future. Luckily I still have just over half the bottle left so my sample is lasting me really well.

TIGI Catwalk Sleek Mystique Straight Collection Blow Out Balm

This was another product in my Feel Unique Beauty Box for October. As I have probably mentioned before I love TIGI products and this blow out balm is AH-MAZ-ING! It smells gorgeous and has a slight shimmer to it when you look at the product in your hand. It wasn't heavy at all in my hair - the perfect lightweight product for applying before blow-drying your hair!

ghd - Heat Protect Spray

ghd have changed their packaging for their styling products which looks even better than before, I have tried a fair few different heat protectors and I always go back to my trusty ghd spray - it protects my hair from the heat of the straighteners without leaving my hair sticky like most protectors seem to do.

What are your products for the month?
